Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Facial Cleansing Wipes (review)

Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Facial Cleansing Wipes

Having been impressed by the Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream, I looked at other products in the range and bought the face cleansing wipes. If you've read this blog for a while you'll know that I'm quite a fan of these time-saving wonders, and I know what to look for, having tried many different brands over the years and been impressed and disappointed in equal measure! These particular wipes are free from parabens, silicones, colourants, mineral oils and alcohol. So at the very least they should be problem-free for every skin type going, which is exactly how they've been marketed.

Nivea also promises that they can remove make-up as they cleanse, but also tone and hydrate, “working in harmony with your skin”. Ingredients include aloe vera and argan oil; 95% of the cleansing lotion is natural. The reality is just as impressive as the blurb, with primer, concealer and foundation swiped away without difficulty while still managing the difficult balancing act of clearing my skin of surface oil without drying it out. Only Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Face Wipes impressed as much in this area.

The wipes have a very smooth texture, but are quite thick so are easy to hold. They glided over my face without shredding and didn't irritate my eyes. They are dermatologically approved, but the term itself is pretty meaningless, just rest assured that they are gentle. They're not especially hydrating, it's more apt to refer to them as 'not-drying' – I often used a moisturiser afterwards at night (and always during the day, where sunscreen is vital), but skipping that step didn't leave my skin feeling parched at all.

So, a reliable buy then; I'm already on my third packet which says it all, really. Price-wise, they're very competitive. The opening label seal does lose its stickiness after a while, which is disappointing, but the wipes are fully biodegradable which makes up for it. You win some, you lose some.

Very well-priced
Not as natural as they make out
Reliable cleansing performance

Don't dry out normal/oily skin

  1. Would you recommend these for use after a nightly shower? I've been using St. Ives Apricot Scrub for years, and it's fine, but I don't know that they're doing anything for my skin.

  2. If you're already in the shower I'd stick with a wash-off cleanser, rather than cleanse afterwards with some wipes - which don't clean quite as deeply as other cleansers!

  3. I follow you!If u want subscribe on my blog too...
