Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Intense Moisturising Treatment (review)

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Intense Moisturising Treatment
Having been impressed with Organix Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner, I wanted to try the matching intensive treatment as well, to get a fuller picture of the quality of the range. Like the basic products, this specialist conditioner contains argan oil which which helps with “restoring shine and softness” while also helping “strengthen and create … seductive, silky perfection”. It also claims to help protect against the effects of UV-rays and styling damage.
The fragrance – while disappointingly artificial – is nice. I want to describe it as 'sunny', but I appreciate that might not be a satisfactory description! It's certainly a creamy, pleasing scent, anyway, and is vaguely reminiscent of Moroccan beaches. The conditioner is coloured, unfortunately. Surely the bright blue and bronze packaging is colourful enough without resorting to colouring the contents, too? So yes, from an ingredients point of view, there's certainly room for improvement.

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Moisturising Treatment
While Organix say you should use 'a small amount' I found it didn't spread as well on my damp hair as the conditioner from the same range did; this is not what you might expect, bearing in mind its slightly lighter texture. So I used a little more, about a half-palm sized amount and found it sank into my hair quite well with a massaging action. After I combed it through and left it on under a shower cap for five minutes I rinsed it out to find my hair beautifully soft and very silky.

Even after it had dried, each strand felt noticeably smoother and shone in the light – and that was only after five minutes! If your hair is very damaged you could leave it on for longer for even more nourishing effects. This is good stuff! The only downside is that it left my hair so slippery I couldn't style it without resorting to texturising powders and dry shampoo. Admittedly this will be a non-issue for some people, but something to bear in mind if you use it before a night out.

You get 237 ml for your money, which makes this rather better value compared to some rival products. The alternative product below from The Body Shop costs more and you get less in a pot, which gives you an idea of how well priced the Organix range is. It's easy to get the cream out of the pot, but the instructions are too small (and intermingled with another language), but minor flaws aside it's a well-rounded product that you can use with confidence.

Nourishes very well, even after just five minutes
Not as easily spreadable as the conditioner
Doesn't weigh hair down
Contains colourants and artificial fragrance
Lovely bright turquoise packaging
Hair is very slippery-smooth; makes styling trickier
