Dr. Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Instant Tightening Eye Serum (review)

Dr. Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Instant Tightening Eye Serum

I've got another very positive review for you today! I've been looking forward to writing about this, an eye cream from the fabulous Dr. Organic, as it's delivered on its promises and is quite outstanding value for money. It's not often you find a product that is wonderfully affordable, very effective and totally desirable in equal measure, so click through to see where Dr. Organic have got it so right.

First up: value. It might not seem the natural place to start, but bear with me! This eye cream is packaged in an unusually large 30 ml container, double the size of the vast majority of rival's eye care products and it costs just under twelve pounds. This makes it the cheapest eye cream tested at Beauty Insignia on a price-per-100-ml basis. But please don't let that put you off, I know some people are wary of 'cheap'. You see, while this is cheap to buy, it is certainly not cheaply made. In fact, this is one of the most luxurious, creamy-soft eye creams I've ever used.

The pump dispenser is easy to use and makes it easy to avoid wastage, too. It does get congested with cream on occasion, but clears itself with a firm press on the pump. The cream itself – Dr. Organic call it a serum, if we're going to be pernickety – is pure white, and very smooth. It melts into skin easily, you won't need more than a light tapping motion to spread it around your eyes. I used it all over the eye area, include the brow bone and under the bottom eye lid. Normally I'd advise caution in using too much product around the eyes, but I never suffered from any puffiness or irritation. Even when I accidentally got it in my eyes, I didn't react to it at all.

I think the “instant tightening” promise on the packaging is somewhat misleading, though. While I'm not disputing the serum's toning effects, 'tightening' sounds uncomfortable, and the reality couldn't be more different. After use my entire eye area felt softened, comfortable and looked smooth and revitalised. After continued use these benefits only seemed to be enhanced. Customers on Holland & Barrett's website agree with me, with lots of 5-star ratings and exclamations of wrinkle reduction. I don't have too many lines under my eyes for me to pass judgement in this area, but I'm happy to take their word for it!

The special ingredient is argan oil from Morocco. This features in so many different cosmetic products these days, and with good reason. It's an excellent source of essential vitamins and has anti-oxidant properties. It's also nourishing with its EFAs (essential fatty acids). Dr. Organic combine this with lots of natural plant extracts, including aloe vera, baobab fruit, roselle flower extract and many essential oils. The latter probably account for the lovely, light fragrance.

We're very enthusiastic about Dr. Organic products here at Beauty Insignia and this eye serum is the perfect example to demonstrate why. Like so many of their products, this just works. No fuss, no nonsense, just a good quality, pleasant to use and effective eye treatment than happens to be excellent value for money. If you haven't tried any of their products, this is a brilliant place to start.
