Flower Pharm Orange Flower / Wild Rose / Lime Blossom Body Washes (review)

Flower Pharm Orange Flower / Wild Rose / Lime Blossom Body Washes

I'm always on the lookout for affordable, more natural body washes. They're products I feel shouldn't take up too much of my cosmetics and toiletries budget because they're one of life's basics.

But I still want to cut down on certain chemicals. So you can imagine my joy when I spot the Flower Pharm range. A quick scan of the ingredients suggests they're more natural than most – more on that later – there was a wide range to choose from, too, and they're well-priced!

First off, the variety available... Wild Rose, Orange Flower and Lime Blossom seems to be it. I don't know if that's the entire range as I can't find a Flower Pharm website. The Wild Rose range is suitably flowery and reminds me very much of Naked's rose wash. The Orange Flower one isn't too citrusy but is bright and refreshing, but my personal favourite is Lime Blossom. Other than the body washes tested here, there are also foam baths, scrubs and moisturising butters (including travel size) available.

While the scents are made up of a combination of real extracts and 'parfum', you can rest assured that they're all free from parabens and SLS/SLES. Naturally, there's no mineral oils or silicones, either. Each body wash has lots of natural ingredients added. I can't find any information on animal testing (there's no bunny logo, though) but from what I can tell I think it's a good ecological performance from Flower Pharm.

They're mostly gentle washes, too. While the perfume has irritated fellow blogger Richard (he suffered some eye irritation), most people should be OK. I found them to be gentle formulations that didn't dry my skin out. They all leave you scented but nothing strong enough to interfere with your perfume or aftershave.

The blurb on the back is easy to read as well, with a clear font in a decent-ish size but the flip-lids can be a bit stiff for the first few uses; they do loosen up with time.

A good quality, nicely fragranced, mostly natural body wash collection for about three pounds a tube! There's a lot to like, here, and they make me feel better now The Body Shop Earth Lovers Shower Gels I was using before have been discontinued. These are a lovely replacement.
