Make-At-Home Cosmetics: Purifying and Exfoliating Olive Oil Hand Treatment (tutorial)

This hand treatment is so unbelievably simple and effective. With just three ingredients it softens, purifies and moisturises leaving the skin more even-toned with fewer discolourations. What’s more, it mixes up in about ten seconds.

This treatment can be used twice a week. It is suitable for all skin types. The nourishing effect of the olive oil perfectly balances the exfoliating effect of the salt, and the lemon has a de-ageing, whitening effect on dark spots and discolouration.

Ingredients
One tablespoon of table salt
One tablespoon of olive oil
Five drops of lemon juice

Utensils
Small bowl
Wooden spoon

Method
Mix all of the ingredients together using the wooden spoon in a small bowl. Apply to the hands straight away, massaging gently, allowing the salt to exfoliate—particularly the roughest areas of skin; the oil softening and penetrating as you go. You can then rinse straight off or alternatively wrap your hands in a warm towel and leave for up to twenty minutes before rinsing.
