Yes To Grapefruit Correct & Repair Brightening Facial Wipes (review)

Yes To Grapefruit Correct & Repair Exfoliating Wipes
Being the facial cleansing wipes convert that I am, and having loved the Yes To Cucumber Towelettes, you can only imagine my joy at finding Boots have started stocking the entire Yes To face collection! (Click on Boots or try Waitrose.)

I'll probably get through the entire range in time, but I wanted the three face wipes I haven't tried: Grapefruit, Carrot and Blueberries. First up: Women's Health award-winning Grapefruit – for uneven skin tone, with a gently exfoliating action to brighten your complexion and tackle blemishes. Obviously they're not designed for sensitive skin.

Yes To actually say that these Grapefruit wipes should only be used 1-2 times a week or 'as needed'. Having oily skin meant I was quite happy to use them every other night and didn't suffer any irritation but they do tingle a bit and clearly aren't suitable for use around the eyes – I can imagine they'll sting!

This means they're not an all-in-one product, and can't take the place of your regular cleansers. Most wipes save you time by acting as both make-up remover and cleanser, these shouldn't be used this way. You could think of them instead as an alternative to face scrubs or exfoliating masks.

The white wipes are thick, with a patterned texture and a good size. They're not at all slippery so you can get an excellent grip on them to get at blemish prone areas like around the nose or forehead. While they tingle on application this sensation dies down with continued use.

They left my face looking clearer, smoother and brighter after a week's use. Yes, really! I'm as sceptical as anyone when it comes to beauty claims, but these wipes do live up to their packaging blurb. They're a pleasant and useful addition to my skincare routine, not just because they're easy to use and work well, but they also smell nice (and I love the packaging!).

The cleansing formula is 95% natural, too (3% down on the Cucumber variety) but like other wipes in the Yes To range, these also feature organic ingredients. There's nothing in the ingredients listings that I'd worry about, even the parfum is 100% natural. The fabric is from FSC certified sources and is compostable. Yes To also claims to be cruelty-free.

So an excellent if unusual addition to the plethora of face wipes. As an alternative to exfoliating scrubs or acid-based cleansers they're perfect and I'm very fond of them. But I suspect many people won't realise that these wipes are for occasional use rather than everyday cleaning.
