Pantene Pro-V Colour Saviour Dry Shampoo (review)

Pantene's Volume Booster dry shampoo is a sibling product to this colour protecting derivative and I absolutely loved it. However, because my blonde hair is dyed red I'm always on the lookout for products that keep it clean looking and feeling while protecting the red pigment (red dye contains the smallest and most easily washed away pigments of all the hair dyes).

Pantene Colour Saviour Dry Shampoo

Could this Colour Saviour be my saviour? Erm… while this performs to the same high standard as the Volume Booster derivative, I can't say I've noticed any slowing down in terms of colour loss. This is still a great dry shampoo, make no mistake, but I honestly can't tell the difference between this and any other dry shampoo when it comes to my hair colour. And the reason for that is the ingredients are EXACTLY the same. Bit of a con, that.

This means it's still easy to use, disappears on my hair without too much effort and adds genuine texture, volume and control to my somewhat unruly hair. I really like it, but I wish this protected my hair more. Perhaps someone could invent dry shampoo with sunscreen in!* That would be ideal as my hair is fading fast in this relentless sunny weather.

The few downsides are also present and correct – difficult brushing out (if required) due to the masses amount of additional texture it brings, a sight 'heavy' feel to the hair after application and a distinct lack of eco-credentials.

I still think this is worth a shot, though. As long as you don't have high expectations regarding colour protection you should be pleased with the results (as well as the price). Now all we need to do is get Procter & Gamble to stop testing their products on animals.

*Maybe someone already has invented SPF dry shampoo. If you know of one, give us a shout! I'd love to try it!

Good volumising and texturising
No noticeable colour saving!
Good oil absorbing properties
Tricky to brush out

Volume Booster & Colour Saviour have exact same ingredients

P&G test on animals
